LaCPR Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration

Congress has directed the Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, in partnership with the State of Louisiana, to compile a 24-month technical comprehensive hurricane risk reduction analysis and design. In July 2006, the Corps completed a six-month preliminary effort, the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration (LACPR) Preliminary Technical Report.
The preliminary report identifies and describes the range of flood control, coastal restoration, and hurricane protection measures for South Louisiana. The Final Technical Report has been delayed but is scheduled for submission to to Congress in 2008.

| Subsequent to the release of the Preliminary Technical Report, the Corps has compiled a comprehensive array of measures identified based on drafts of the State's Master Plan and extensive joint Federal/State stakeholder involvement efforts with resource agencies, non-governmental organizations, academia and the public. These plan formulation considerations are illustrated by planning unit, using maps and supporting tables in a Plan Formulation Atlas that was completed in April 2007.
