Just Two Weeks left to Submit an Abstract for Oral or Poster Presentation for SOC18
State of the Coast 2018 (SOC18) will be here before you know it. This biennial conference provides an interdisciplinary forum to exchange timely and relevant information on the dynamic conditions of Louisiana’s coastal communities, environment and economy, and to apply that information to existing and future coastal restoration and protection efforts, policies, and decision-making. CRCL is hosting the conference in partnership with The Water Institute of the Gulf and the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana.
The need for which grows with every acre of land lost to the Gulf. We are once again working hard to provide the most comprehensive conference experience possible, but we need your help. SOC18 looks to the science and restoration community to assist with developing the conference agenda, and you are invited to submit an abstract for consideration as an oral or poster presentation.
To view session themes and potential topics and to submit an abstract, click here. Keep in mind, submissions are not limited to these areas of focus, as we seek to capture all emerging topics and new ideas critical to our mission. Abstracts are due January 5, 2018.
The Program Committee -- made up of coastal professionals in academia, the private sector and governmental decision-makers-- is especially interested in submittals focused on the Chenier Plain, Ecosystem Science, Protection in Practice, Human Dimensions and Our Future Coast, although all other themes and topics are very welcome and will be included in the program.
SOC18 will be held May 30 - June 1, 2018 in New Orleans, LA.
