Volunteers Needed- Bayou Segnette Cypress Planting
 
The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, Jefferson Parish and Entergy Corporation invite you to participate in a cypress restoration project along Bayou Segnette in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.  The objective of the project is to increase habitat quality and promote a healthy cypress forest along the Bayou Segnette Waterway.  The restored cypress forest will provide critical habit for wildlife and provide storm protection to adjacent marsh and camp sites.

This project is being completed through a partnership with Jefferson Parish, Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana, Entergy Corporation, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Restore America's Estuaries, Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program,  National Association of Countries Research Foundation, Shaw Coastal and Coca-Cola. Volunteers will plant over 3,000 pots of bald cypress over 3 days.

                           (No longer accepting Volunteers for Friday)                
                           Saturday, March 13th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
                           Saturday, March 20th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

All planting equipment (gloves, shovels, dibbles, etc.) will be provided.  Lunch and drinks will be provided to all volunteers by Shaw Coastal and Coca-cola.  Please feel free to volunteer for one or more days.  Additional information will be provided to volunteers after registration.
