On June 25, 2011 nearly 60 volunteer braved the heat to come out and plant 1,600 mangrove trees at Grand Isle State Park. The CRCL and National Wildlife Federation worked with professors and students from Nicholls State University as well as Grand Isle State Park to help implement this project. This project will help reduce erosion and restore critical wetland habitat along the shoreline of the state park.
The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana and all the project partners would like to thank the volunteers who came out that day to help with this project and make it such a success!
