Coalition To Restore Coastal Louisiana

Citizens Working to Protect and Restore a Sustainable Coastal Louisiana

Join CRCL for Marsh Madness in Avery Island!

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) invites you to join us for an interactive tour of one of Louisiana’s most beautiful coastal zones, Avery Island.

See firsthand the land loss that threatens our coast, and the successful restoration efforts that protect this  critical area of Louisiana culture and wildlife habitat.

What is Marsh Madness?

Marsh Madness is an invitation-only event where guests will have an opportunity to see the front lines of Louisiana’s coastal land loss crisis.  This event will not only show threats to the natural wonder of Louisiana, but evidence of the victories we have achieved in restoring marsh to our state’s central coastal zone.  You will also have the opportunity to learn more about CRCL and how you can join us in our mission of restoring and protecting our wetlands.

And our excursions will be based out of Avery Island, home to lush gardens, thousands of shorebirds and wildlife species and, of course, the famed Tabasco bottling plant.

When to Attend?

Guests can join us on either (or both!) of two days:

Friday, April 20, 2012, 1 p.m., for tours, reception and dinner (overnight accommodations available)

-Or-

Saturday, April 21, 2012, 8:30 a.m. for breakfast, tours and lunch

We meet for both days at the Marsh House in Avery Island, La.  (map)

Marsh Madness is a wonderful opportunity to experience the outdoors, learn more about one of Louisiana’s most unique communities and connect with others who are passionate about rebuilding our coast.  We hope you can join us for either day of our Avery Island adventure!
