Meet Darrah Bach

Oyster Shell Recycling Program Coordinator

Why did you decide to go into this field?

After graduating with a degree in Environmental Studies from Tulane University I set a goal for myself to apply my studies, which focused largely on Louisiana’s unique environment, to the local field. Working at CRCL has given me the opportunity to learn and contribute to protecting and restoring coastal Louisiana.

What is your favorite part of the job?

My favorite part of the job is uniting people from all walks of life in working towards the shared goal of protecting Louisiana’s coast. CRCL’s volunteer events bring people together to take action that protects every living thing that calls Louisiana home, from the oysters to cypress forests and urban communities.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy making pottery and tending to my garden.

What is your favorite seafood to eat?

Crawfish!
